Our usual booth was unfortunately taken, but we will make it up to you with an additional booth in hall 6 – in coop with HÜNE gaming tables .

Just in time for SPIEL'22 , they will gather to make life difficult once again for all of Caverna - The Cave Farmers friends: In this second expansion for Caverna - The Cave Farmers, you must each face the threat of four invading orcs by either sending your armed dwarves into battle or bribing the invaders to go the other way, or both. Either way, you must get rid of the orcs as quickly as possible. Plus, the sooner you defeat them, the better the reward.

ALL TRAINS ON TRACK WITH 1880 CHINA

We are happy to announce that the roll out of 1880 China is scheduled for later this month!

Is this your kind of track?

In 1880 China, players become railway magnates in faraway Asia. Based on 1830 (Revised Edition 2018) - Railways & Robber Barons by Francis Tresham, they experience China's railway history in a game that was designed to represent related historical events as correct as possible within its own game mechanics.

Being a classic 18XX game, the players are competing in becoming the richest. In order to gain money, they buy and sell shares of China's historical railway companies, build and expand their railway network and let trains travel on the networks. Shares of successful companies are worth more and owning them will increase the chance to win the game.

In the end, the player with the highest wealth combined from cash and shares is the winner of the game for 3-7 expert players aged 12 and up. A feast for railroads enthusiasts!

What’s new and where can I grab my copy?

The graphically revised edition of this 18XX spinoff by Leonhard Orgler and Helmut Ohley became a facelift by renowned artist Sofia Zhong. German edition will be available by end of August (for DACH region), preorders with your FLGS are open and there will be copies at the Lookout webshop later this month. Due to logistics, English edition for UK and US markets will be delivered this Autumn.

Does game design influence our future?

ATIWA, the new hit game by Uwe Rosenberg, carries the hope for a better environment.

At UK Games Expo , we presented our new Uwe Rosenberg game for the very first time: ATIWA takes players to Ghana, West Africa, to a village community on the edge of a nature reserve that provides clean drinking water to a large area.

In the role of a family of fruit growers, players learn that fruit bats - formerly feared and hunted as fruit thieves - are in fact incredibly useful animals. While the nocturnal animals continue to eat fruit from the trees, in doing so they equally disperse seeds over vast areas of the country. In this way, they help to reforest fallow land and - in the medium term - improve harvests. This realization has led to a symbiotic cooperation between fruit bats and the fruit farms. The animals are kept as "pets" in order to increase the size of the farms more quickly. Tall trees are left as roosts, providing shelter for them rather than hunting them for their scant meat. However, if you have a lot of fruit bats, you need a lot of space...

Experts are needed in this classic worker placement game, especially since the game features lots of cards and over 300 wooden components(including many, many #batmeeples). The perfect balance between fruit bats and the growth of the farm is the key to success and thus to victory. ATIWA, the new Uwe Rosenberg for 1-4 game expert players aged 12 and up will be available at SPIEL '22 in Essen this October. Just look out for the #fruitbats!

Hello, I am Günter.

The quiet man from Bad Nauheim is well known. He is regarded as a veteran of the German board game scene, even though he doesn't play games himself. But that has never stopped him from recognizing the potential of a good game. Günter has been with Lookout since our early years, and since fall he has been a permanent member of the team again, taking care of our international distribution partners.

In the past, Günter made sure that BOHNANZA was known all the way to Asia, but today he takes it much easier: He is currently in training to become a non-medical practitioner. Our colleague does not play, but he is always available for a good book.

Hello, I am Anika.

With our #PaperPoint'nClick series of interactive #adventure books, we've kicked off a whole new chapter of Lookout history. To ensure that the future volumes also have interesting stories to tell, we have added a professional storyteller to the editorial team:

Anika comes from Viersen on the Lower Rhine, studied in Cologne, and brings experience in editing and from a book publishing house. As a junior editor, she has been taking care of our book heroes since the beginning of the year, putting them out of their misery and pushing the stories forward. You can be curious!

For Anika, writing is like eating, drinking or breathing. Thank goodness she also discovered playing for herself. Anika plays and lives in Düsseldorf today and is exactly 4 minutes younger than her twin sister. When she's not working on a text, you're guaranteed to find her at the movies, in a museum, or wrapped in a book. And in case you're interested: Anika plays yellow.

Hello, I am Sonja.

Our youngest team member comes from West Middle Franconia. The state-certified foreign language correspondent impressed us with her determined nature right from the start. Since January, she has been strengthening our editorial team, taking care of translations and helping out in marketing. She is also already busy at game events, explaining and presenting our games.

Sonja has just moved to the German capital. She likes movies, spring and the sea. She also likes to be outside, whether on foot or by bike. As a player, she considers her moves carefully - you see, we have found another tactician for the Lookout team here!
